For a high quality motor you will want to look for at least 1.5hp and one that runs at under 5000rpm. A motor with these qualities should last you for quite a long time. The basic Weslo treadmill model that is currently on the market new is the Cardio Stride Plus. It is a perfect design for those that don't have a lot of room to store a bulky machine as it folds quite flat. This is a manual treadmill and does not have a motor, but a flywheel instead. The Trotter Elite was made to be a lighter version of their typical commercial machine. It was a very expensive machine for its time, and came with a lot of features that would be considered fairly basic on most treadmills today.
